When the series begins, we are introduced to Gohan, Goku's five year old son. During this time, a Saiyan lands on Earth and seeks out Goku. He tells that he is Raditz, Goku's older brother and asks Goku to join the Saiyans in their quest for universal domination. When Goku refuses, Raditz decides to kidnap Gohan and tells Goku to kill 100 earth people. However, Goku decides that he will get Gohan back by killing Raditz. Piccolo allies with Goku and they begin fighting Raditz. While Piccolo gathers the energy to do a special beam connon attack, Goku stalls time. He eventually puts Raditz into a hold and Piccolo fires hiting both Raditz and Goku. Krillin finds the warriors and laughs that Goku will be brought back to life through the Dragonballs. Raditz uses his scouter to radio the news about the Dragonballs back to his partners and dies. When Gohan headbutted Raditz in the fight and damaged him, Piccolo decides to take it upon himself to train Gohan. Meanwhile, Goku is sent on a journey through Snake Way to receive training from King Kai and the rest of the Z warriors are gathered to receive training from Kami. One year later, Nappa and Vegeta arrive on Earth to find the Dragonballs and be granted the wish of immortality. The Z warriors find Nappa and Vegeta and they begin fighting. The warriors concentrate on Nappa while Vegeta watches in the background. In a series of battles, Chauzu dies when he sacrifices himself in an attempt to blow up Nappa, Tenshin-han dies when he uses all his strength trying to kill Nappa, and Piccolo dies when he covers Gohan from a attack from Nappa. Eventually Goku shows up and begins fighting Nappa. Nappa, seeing that he is being beaten, tries to retreat. Goku pursues him and does a Kao-Ken, snapping Nappa?pine. Nappa asks Vegeta to help him. Vegeta throws Nappa into the air and kills him with one attack. Then all the rest of the Z Warriors converge on Vegeta. Vegeta, seeing that the odds were against him, performs a full moon and turns into a giant gorilla. He starts beating up on every one until his tail is cut off by Yajirobe. Goku starts to create a sprit bomb and donates energy to Krillin and the bomb hits Vegeta, but he survives. Meanwhile, Gohan also turns into his full moon stage and starts kicking Vegeta around until his tail is cut off by Vegeta. Gohan shrinks back to normal size and lands right on top of Vegeta. Weary and beaten, Vegeta crawls back to his pod and leaves. |
